The New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission Announces Launch of 2026 Internship Program

TRENTON, NJ  — The New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission (NJIHC) is proud to open applications for its 2026 Internship Program, offering motivated college‐ and university‐level students a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful cultural heritage work, research, program development, and event support.

Designed to provide hands-on experience in the fields of Italian American heritage, education, cultural programming and public outreach, the NJIHC Internship Program invites students to:

  • Conduct research and assist in the development of educational curricula and heritage programming for New Jersey’s Italian and Italian-American communities

  • Provide committee and event support for statewide initiatives that promote Italian culture, language, history and civic engagement.

  • Earn college credit (subject to college/university approval) and develop professional competencies in nonprofit operations, cultural communications, marketing and community outreach.

By supplying students with real-world experience in cultural heritage and public service, the 2026 Internship Program deepens the next generation’s connection to Italian American legacy while enhancing professional preparation in the nonprofit and cultural sectors.
