New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission Internship

Term: January 2026 – May 2026 

Hours: 6 hours per week and receive college credits – discuss with Executive Director.

Meet with the Executive Director – Hybrid/ and can schedule in person, will schedule time find cadence with Executive Director.

Position Overview:
The intern will support the educational, media, community outreach, marketing, executive initiatives helping to develop, strategize, and implement outreach and promotional campaigns aimed at increasing awareness of the Commission’s goals. The intern will play an integral role in supporting the New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission’s efforts in community engagement, event promotion, research and educational outreach.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and supporting marketing plans for fundraising, community events, and educational programs.
  • Design and execute social media campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Work closely on data collection, organization of web content and audits.
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote the organization’s initiatives.
  • Write and distribute press releases, blog posts, and other marketing content for social media, websites, and traditional media outlets.
  • Generate creative content such as infographics, videos, and graphics using tools like Canva and Adobe Premiere.
  • Actively manage community engagement and interactions on digital platforms.
  • Assist the marketing team at both live and virtual events. Attending in person events sporadically.
  • Collaborate on the development of grant applications and materials for student programs.

This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in media, marketing, community outreach, and event promotion, providing insights into non-profit and cultural heritage work. Ideal candidates will have strong writing skills, social media proficiency, and a passion for Italian heritage and culture.
