The New Jersey Italian Heritage Commission (NJIHC) is gearing up for its 13th Annual Congress on Saturday, november 12th from 2:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.

The 2016 edition, entitled “Showcasing New Jersey Artists,” will feature presentations from prominent local Italian American visual artists. The program will conclude with a reception featuring heavy hors d’oeuvres and musical entertainment at Rutgers’ Zimmerli Art Museum, 71 Hamilton Street, New Brunswick, NJ.

NJIHC Chairman Robert DiBiase explained that “While traditionally the Congress has been a morning event, the later start time will afford guests the opportunity to explore the museum’s galleries, while enjoying good food and camaraderie with leaders of the Italian American community and local representatives.”

Past Congresses have featured scientists, business leaders, and even Supreme Court Justices that have strong connections to both New Jersey and Italy. This year’s edition will feature presentations from Emmy-nominated filmmakers Marylou & Jerome Bongiorno, book artist Maria G. Pisano, and celebrity illustrator James Fiorentino. Winners of the Commission’s statewide student art contest will also be announced during the event.

Advanced registration required and available online until sold out at NJItalianHeritage.org/Congress Ticket price of $15 includes presentations and reception. Sign in opens at 2:30 P.M., while program begins promptly at 3:00 P.M. Additional information available online, or by contacting the NJIHC office at 848-445-4163.
